We had a great experience here today. We are visiting Venice with our dog. The dog entrance is in the back where the patio is. We were greeted and sat immediately. The server got our dog water immediately. She also brought us some dog treats. We ordered drinks and food. The cocktails were hand crafted and delicious. The food portions were large and delicious also. We will definitely be a returning customer.
my hubby finds the most interesting places to eat waterfront. Server was amazing. We enjoyed the patio, where we watched a huge forklift grab a stored boat and put it in the water for the owner. Very relaxing
The Old Salty Dog is a great little restaurant for you, your family, and your dog! The food spice is really well balanced with enough kick and seasoning to make the meal enjoyable. In the pictures above, you will see the Shrip Po Boy, with plenty of shrip. So much shrip we could barely close the sandwich. You will also see the Firecracker blackened Mahi Mahi wrap with their signature Boom Boom sauce. It was delicious! We did order another shrip Firecracker wrap, which had a bit of sand in it. There was nothing to complain about, but the restaurant did comp that part of the bill, which wasn't necessary but appreciated. If you're not in the mood for fries, their side salad will definitely be a good substitute because they give a nice large portion. We will continue to come back to this restaurant!
After a morning at the Brohard Paw Park, I took my two salty dogs to the Old Salty Dog. This is my new favorite restaurant close to the dog beach. The side entrance provides easy access for you and your pups, they have very reasonably priced dog menu items which are good size portions. My coconut shrimp and the chowder was excellent. The staff is very attentive to you and your dogs and the tables are spaced enough to have some room. The drinks are well poured.
Definitely will be back. Great fish sammich and the old salty dog is a must!
A somewhat hidden gem located in a marina just off the road in Venice. Indoor and out door seating. Great vibe. Our server was attentive, kind and very personable. Food was made fresh and served hot. Onion rings were crispy. Fries were crispy on the outside .. soft on the inside. Chicken was yum. Burgers were yum. Ribs were yum. Deep fried hot dog was yum. Desserts were yum. A bit pricey .. definitely worth the money.
